Lotus Pharmaceutical Wins Gold at the 2026 Taiwan Sustainable Action Awards (TSAA) for Advancing Healthcare Access

Taipei, Taiwan, 27 August 2026Lotus Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 1795), a leading global pharmaceutical company, today announced that it has received the Gold Award in the Social Inclusion category at the 2026 Taiwan Sustainable Action Awards (“TSAA”) for its “Lotus Medical Access Initiative”.

Founded in Nantou in 1966 and guided by its mission to expand global access to medicines through a diverse portfolio, Lotus has sought to extend this commitment closer to home. Its work in Nantou’s rural communities also highlighted broader challenges arising from an ageing population, including the need for greater dementia-care support for migrant caregivers. In 2024, Lotus brought these efforts together under the Lotus Medical Access Initiative, focusing on rural healthcare and caregiver support.

Working with a broad range of partners, including healthcare and academic institutions, non-profit organisations, government agencies, local communities and employee volunteers, Lotus delivers two complementary programmes. The Nantou Rural Volunteer Medical Service brings healthcare services directly to underserved communities, while the Migrant Caregiver Dementia Empowerment Programme, carried out in collaboration with One-Forty, combines in-person training with multilingual educational resources to strengthen caregivers’ dementia-care knowledge and skills. These efforts also align with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Between 2024 and 2025, the initiative recorded 590 instances of healthcare service provided to rural residents, trained 35 migrant caregivers and achieved a combined reach of more than 259,000 through physical and digital educational resources. It also involved 58 Lotus employee volunteers and recorded 118 instances of participation by medical students.

“Receiving the Gold Award at the Taiwan Sustainable Action Awards is a meaningful recognition of our efforts to translate our mission to expand global access to medicines into action,” said Petar Vazharov, Chief Executive Officer of Lotus Pharmaceutical. “This recognition belongs equally to our employees and partners, whose collaboration has made these efforts possible and helped us support healthier and more inclusive communities.”
